Never confuse meek with weak! Yes, Jesus was meek but He was not week! When you take a close look at the Jesus of the Bible you see a powerful Jesus. Even when the Religious leaders tried to arrest Him many times, He always was able to escape their snare. Was it not for Jesus to lay down His life by His own accord neither the Romans nor the Religious Jewish leaders would have been able to do any thing (John 10:18)! And that my friend is Power!

The Lamb is now a Lion

When Jesus came to this world He came as a living sacrifice and died as a silent lamb obeying His Father’s Will. Jesus second coming will be a different story. He will come back with a great roar. A lion’s roar is meant to frighten the enemy. In certain martial arts disciplines, shouting is used not only to subdue the enemy but also to have more power when hitting the adversary or object. Jesus will not come as a lamb anymore as he did once….That is something of the past. That is why the Lord Jesus will once and for all crush Satan when He returns! Many deceived people who claim to be followers of Satan or Lucifer think and have the very mistaken idea that when Jesus shall return Jesus is going to have some huge fight with the Devil!

The first time Satan was simply kicked out or flicked out of Heaven (Luke 10:18) and the second time, all Jesus will do is yawn and Satan will be consumed and destroyed! (1Thessalonians 2)

Please not a quiet Church!

Truly, a quiet Church is often a dead Church. We are living the New Testament times as witnesses of Christ. God is building a Church which is not silent but a Church which is ‘saying something’ and is alive with Faith Love and Power. Indeed sometimes we have to shout at the devil as Jesus Christ did often (Matthew 17:18, Luke 4:41, Luke 9:42, Mark 10:48) and will do again in His second coming and roar like a lion.
1 Thessalonians 4:16, “For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a mighty shout and with the soul-stirring cry of the archangel and the great trumpet-call of God.” (TLB)

Any Christian that have had a genuine awakening in his soul will be a ‘shouting’ Christian. As a Christian you need to speak up and speak loud when everything is against what you believe from The Words of Christ. When ‘hell breaks loose’ against you, than ‘bind hell’ with your shouts of praises and Hallelujahs to the Lord that He is faithful and remind your self that the devil that you are coming against is already defeated and whooped!(Colossians 2:15)

The Holy Spirit that God has brought upon us and is in us gives us the power to shout at the devil and Jesus through His wonderful name He gives the authority! This is a powerful duo that knows no defeat! When the enemy comes harassing at your door with thoughts of death and that you are going to die in a accident or that you are going to die young, you lift up your voice in authority and shout declaring, “No you won’t kill me, now it’s too late, devil you have no right over me. I belong to Jesus and you cannot touch me and I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.” Psalm 118:17 (NKJV)

As a true blood bought child of God and saint in Christ, you have the authority and power through Jesus Christ to shout these words loud at the devil when you feel that sinking feeling which makes you feel like you are a loser or some negativity coming over you. Once we have faith and believe what Jesus says, we need to act upon it. Keep this in your mind; faith is not complete until it has said some thing!
“But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written; I believed, and therefore did I speak; we also believe, and therefore also we speak…” (ASV) 2 Corinthians 4:13,

Say to your self, “God is faithful and I know that His Word will stand forever. The Word says it; I believed it and that settles it for me!” As Christians we need to realize that when the Bible speaks about faith it always is talking about faith in the spoken and inspired Word of The Living God!

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. Romans 10:17-18 (NKJV)

Bible faith is not how much faith you have in yourself nor in how much faith you have in your faith, but having faith in what God’s Word says and what He promised that He will do for you in your given situation! …and that my friend is the kind of faith that pleases the Lord! (Hebrews 11:6)

Our identity with Christ

Many people in the world, including well meaning Christians suffer from a common thing, that is; IDENTITY CRISES! We need to know our power and our capabilities in our new identity that we have in Christ. Once this is in function all form of identity crises is washed away. We must know who we are in order to know the ability and purposes that Jesus Christ meant for us to enjoy and walk in. Like Christ, The Anointed One we can walk about doing that which is good and healing all those that are oppressed by the devil because God is with us (See Acts 10: 38).

Jesus Christ knew who He was, His purpose, His Power and what His abilities were. The good news is that He has delegated to us all Christians the same power, authority and even more, since He Himself has said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father." John 14:12-13 (NKJV)

To our Advantage

By Jesus being gone it is better! What do I mean by that? I mean that just like Jesus said Himself that it will actually be to an advantage for us! ‘How is that so’, you may be wondering?!

"But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.” John 16:7 (NAS)

When Jesus said that is ‘an advantage’ He was actually saying to us that it is a “Plus” for us or that it is a “benefit” or in other words; it is an “improvement” upon what they had with Jesus!

Many people say, “Oh I wish I knew Jesus like the first apostles knew Him”. Well I am sure and have no doubt that it would be an awesome experience, however Jesus said that in essence when He left to go to His Father in Glory, He would send the Holy Spirit and in actuality the Holy Spirit, the anointing, the ‘christ’ will now be in every Christ-ian.

Today if we truly take hold of these words of Jesus and really believe them and receive them by faith we discover that we have it better than all the prophets of the Old Testament and better than the apostles and disciples that walked with Jesus (before He suffered, died and rose again)! The reason why is that under the Old Covenant only specific people that stood in a certain ‘office’ could have the Holy Spirit “With” them, now EVERY true Christian can have The Same Holy Spirit and Anointing of Almighty God “IN” him or her…as well as with them and upon them!

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you.” John 14:16-18 (NAS)

"And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high." Luke 24:49 (NAS)

What does Jesus Christ mean?

Jesus means (The Lord who saves) and Christ (the one who has been smeared by the Holy Spirit and Power of God.).

CHRIST or as it is written in Greek, ‘christos’ which means "anointed," translates, in the Septuagint as the word "Messiah," a term applied to the priests who were anointed with the holy oil, particularly the high priest, e. g., Lev 4:3,5,16.

The prophets are called “hoi christoi Theou”, "the anointed of God," Ps 105:15. A king of Israel was described upon occasion as “christos tou Kuriou”, "the anointed of the Lord," 1 Sam 2:10,35; 2 Sam 1:14; Ps 2:2; 18:50; Hab 3:13; the term is used even of Cyrus, Isa 45:1.

The title ‘ho Christos’, "the Christ," is used in the NT frequently with the article, of the Lord Jesus, as an appellative rather than a title, e. g., Matthew 2:4; Acts 2:31; without the article, Luke 2:11; 23:2; John 1:41. Three times the title was expressly accepted by the Lord Himself. (Matt 16:17; Mark 14:61-62; John 4:26).

It is added as an appellative to the proper name "Jesus," e. g., John 17:3, the only time when the Lord so spoke of Himself. (Acts 9:34; 1 Corinthians 3:11; 1 John 5:6). It is distinctly a proper name in many passages, whether with the article, e. g., Matt. 1:17; 11:2; Rom. 7:4, 9:5; 15:19; 1 Corinthians. 1:6, or without the article, Mark 9:41; Rom 6:4; 8:9,17; 1 Corinthians 1:12; Gal 2:16. The single title Christos is sometimes used without the article to signify the One who by His Holy Spirit and power indwells believers and molds their character in conformity to His likeness, Romans 8:10; Galatians 2:20; 4:19; Ephesians 3:17.

As to the use or absence of the article, the title with the article specifies the Lord Jesus as "the Christ"; the title without the article stresses His character and His relationship with believers. Again, speaking generally, when the title is the subject of a sentence it has the article; when it forms part of the predicate the article is absent. (From Vine's Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words, Copyright (c) 1985, Thomas Nelson Publishers)

Jesus Christ then means The Lord who saves or The Savior who has been anointed (smeared upon) by the Holy Spirit and The Power of God.

We also have received the anointing and empowering of the Holy Spirit and for this reason we are Christians (Christ-like) and ‘christs’ with a small c. Therefore we can say it this way; Christ was the One Anointed Chosen by God to be the Savior of The world but Christ in certain passages is a “Ministry”, “an Ability”. Jesus who was given the appointment to be The Christ was not Christ until He was 30 when He was baptized in the river Jordan, with “power from on high”. It is there that His Ministry started. He is the Christ but we are as a whole universal body, are all ‘christs’ body or as more commonly known as Body of Christ.

Acts 10:38, “…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him." (NKJV)

Praying in the Name of Jesus

When we pray, if we want to be scripturally correct, we should pray in the name of Jesus or Jesus Christ, not only in “Christ’s name”. For in essence we can see that Christ is not as such a name. This is why you see in the scripture that Jesus told us, “…And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover. So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that attended it. Amen." Mark 16: 15-20 (RSV)

Though Jesus is and always will be The Christ, yet we as the Body of Christ, The True Church of The Anointed One, we are a complete whole with Him, The Christ. It is for the reason that “The Christ” is in the “Earth” realm while Jesus The Head in the “HEAVENLY” realm. Jesus was taken into Heaven but His Christ remained here on earth to continue the works of Christ!

In essence when we pray we are joining the whole Person of The Christ. Jesus the Christ who is in Heaven and us The Body of Christ who is on earth! Jesus and Christians are one body! We are not going to be one day when we die and go to Heaven; In the sight of God we are one body now!( …and please for those who leaders reading this article, let your people know that your denomination is not the only true ‘body of believers’ who are the ‘Body of Christ’. Denominations started by carnal immature Christians. (Ref: 1 Corinthians1:10-17, 3: 1-5)

“But if you give yourself to the Lord, you and Christ are joined together as one person.” 1 Corinthians 6:17 (TLB)

“But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” 1 Corinthians 6:17-18 (NAS)

We are not Christian because we read the Bible or go to Church on Sunday only, but more importantly because we have been smeared by the Holy Spirit, the same Holy Spirit and Anointing that Jesus had and walked about on this earth.

This was not a strange thing to the early apostles and disciples of the Lord Jesus!

“Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.” Acts 11:25-26, (NKJV)

They were not Christians because they went to seminary and graduated with a diploma of Christianity. They did not call them Christians because they went to Church or because they had some crucifix on their bed or around their necks! They were called Christians because the people around them saw in them what they saw in Jesus their Master! They saw them accomplishing the same works of healings, miracles and power the same as Jesus did!

Acts 4:13-15, “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say.” (NIV)

We shall bear more fruit

In the above scripture, the disciples were called Christians for the first time. The reason for this being that Christ was the seed and more Christ-likes were now within the Church. You can count how many seeds are in an apple but you can never count how many apples are in a seed! One does not know how many fruit each seed will bear. Christ died and through His death were borne many fruits. With His death and resurrection Jesus enabled us to be like Him, in that the Holy Spirit is in us and over us.

Jesus was born of the Spirit of God in the womb of His mother Mary, and baptized in the Holy Spirit at the age of 30, in the river Jordan.
Christians too are Born Again by The Holy Spirit the first time they receive The Lord as Savior, and are further Baptized by The Holy Spirit to be empowered for the Works of Christ!

Christians were called so for the first time because other people must have seen them with Jesus and did the same things as Jesus.

The religious leaders, who at that time were in the claws of satan, thought that by condemning Jesus to death, they can do away with Him once and for all. What they did not realize is that one Jesus, The Seed of God was about to fall to the ground and die (planted in the earth), there was about to come a harvest from The Seed sown: its results; Many other ‘christs’ or Christ look-alikes! In other words, Christ-ians! We are not The CHRIST-Messiah but like Christ we are anointed and when one is genuinely born-again, he or she receives the same anointing.

Jesus was born

Matthew 1:21-22, “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins." NKJV

Luke 2:42-44,“When he was twelve years old, they went up to the Feast, according to the custom. After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.” NIV

If you notice carefully in the above references, the name of the Messiah, the promised one to deliver Israel from Bondage was Jesus! Until His baptism in water in the river Jordan, when the Holy Spirit came upon Him like a dove, we see that His name not Jesus Christ but only Jesus but from the river Jordan experience onwards, when He started His ministry at age 30, He was called Jesus The Christ, or more commonly known Jesus Christ!.

Jesus asked His disciples if they know who He Jesus was? When Peter answered correctly, the answer that Peter gave Him and that Jesus was hoping that they will tell Him was not that He was Jesus son of Mary, or “Jesus the good teacher” or “Jesus the one who heals” or “Jesus who does miracles” etc… The answer that pleased the Lord and that Peter answered by revelation of The Father was that Jesus was The Christ! (Matthew 16: 16-18).

In the same passage in verse 20, Jesus warned them not to tell any one that He was The Christ, not to tell any one that He was Jesus! The obvious is because every one knew that He was Jesus, ’Yeshua’, the son of Mary and Joseph!

Jesus or the Hebrew name, “Yeshua” is the name synonymous with the Term Son of God (Matthew 22:42)! Now this is why that unless one is Born of God or Born again (John 1;12-13) He is not a real Christian, but only a nominal ‘Christian’ who may have all the symbols but has no substance!

We are not what we think we are. But we are given the identity by who owns us. When we are born from our natural parents, they pretty much give us our identity and even give us our name, yet when Jesus Christ gives us a new identity when we are Born Again; we are given a new name when we become Christian.

Built as living stones on the rock of our salvation

In 1 Peter 4: 16-18, The Apostle Peter tells us, “However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.” NIV (Too bad that many prefer to identify themselves with names such as; Protestant, Baptist, Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Methodist, Pentecostal, Charismatic, Presbyterian, Anglican etc…)

In 1Peter 2:4-10, “Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame." Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, "The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone," and "A stone of stumbling And a rock of offence."
They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” NKJV

Notice in the above scripture that all those that come to Him (not all those that go to church, or are religious) they obtain another name: It is exactly the same name as The One that they come to, ‘Stone’! Jesus is The Corner Stone that the whole Spiritual House is being built upon, and those that are being built are of the same material and substance of the very Corner Stone-Jesus!

Now my dear beloved Christian friend you understand why it so precious for God our Father that we call our selves Christians and not some other insignificant man-made name!

In essence when we are saved and born again we become “a new living being, a new living stone”, that has been anointed or smeared upon with the Holy Spirit and Power of God, like our own founder and perfecter and initiator of our Faith Jesus The Christ Himself! (Hebrews 12:2)

When you are asked “what are you?” by some one, who has not had his/her mind renewed by the Word of God yet (Romans 12;1-2), just simply with gratefulness in your heart say, “I am a Christian-like Christ”!

When we become Christian we become in a sense “peter-christ”, because we are like Peter (a living stone) built upon the Rock (Petra in Greek-Chief Corner Stone) of our Salvation who is Christ. Petra in Greek means Mass of Stone-The Chief Corner Stone. Jesus said on this Rock [i.e: Petra] (on Himself) He will build the Church (we are the living stones build on the Corner stone, with the first Apostles of Christ as the 1St level in the foundation the building).

As I tried to convey above in this letter, we become like the apostle Peter and we inherit the name of Jesus, His works and His Ministry. Our work has doubled what Jesus did because we become living beings in Christ by the ever present indwelling of the Holy Spirit or anointing (John 14, 16). He had 12 Apostles, than 72 others (Luke 10:1 and than 120, than 500 etc...) See Acts. But Jesus said that we will accomplish greater works than He did. When we believe in the authority and power there is in His name!

1 Peter 2:4-5, “As you come to him, the living Stone-rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him- you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” NIV

We belong to Jesus and we should always be sure of this fact. I and Christ is One (1 Corinthians 6:17). Jesus has put upon you His anointing which He left behind on earth by the Holy Spirit that came on the first church on Pentecost and has been coming over Christians all over the World across every denomination (Acts 2:1-5, esp. 39).

It is time to Stand up and Shout

My beloved friend today as a true Christian you are anointed and appointed by your faithful Master Jesus The Anointed One!

Do not let the enemy sell you any of his worthless lies any more and let him tell you that you are nothing and that you are no one!

You are whom the Bible say you are. You can do what the Bible say you can do and you have what The Bible says you have. You have been blessed with ‘every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ’ (Ephesians 1:3), and ‘you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you’ (Philippians 4:13).

Don’t let your ears become the devil’s trash cans (nor the people that serve him). Reserve your eyes and your ears only for The Lord (Psalm 101:3, Mark 4:24, Romans 10:17) Let your thoughts be His thoughts and boldly reject every thought that tells you any different from what The Father God said about you in His Word (2 Corinthians 10: 4-5, Philippians 4: 8, Colossians 3:1-4).

No one has the right to speak over your life any less than what God says, and if they do, than don’t listen to those words. No one has the right to give you an identity because they neither made you nor did they redeem you, i.e: died or shed their blood for you and rose again for you to give you eternal life!

Be bold yet not cocky. Love every one like Jesus did but don’t love every thing! Don’t be ashamed of The Truth cause Jesus died for the Truth, now at least you life for it! Love what He loves; people, and hate what He hates; sin and the devil!

You are a Child of God, created in the image of the very Son of God. (Romans 8:29) You are the Temple of The Holy Spirit and the Greater One now lives inside of you (1 Corinthians 6; 19-20, 1 John 4:4). You are blessed by The Best and since you are blessed there is no curse that can succeed against you as you walk with The Lord!

You have the authority and power in Jesus name to cast out devils and heal the sick (Mark 16:14-18)! You don’t need any religious license to do the works of God. Jesus Himself has chosen you and appointed you (John 15)! Make your self fruitful by being a vital part of a church, community or fellowship where the UNCOMPROMISED WORD OF GOD is preached. In a world with many Christians remain a ‘liability’, you can be the blessing that God called you and be an asset to what The Lord is doing through that Fellowship/Community.

Church traditions, legalism and added opinions of men to God’s Word will suck the anointing off of your God given destiny, so if you are in a similar 'church', God’s Word to you is clear, run..and “Get out”. Revelations 18:4,"Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her (idolatrous and adulterous religious system) sins…” (NIV) and find a Christian Community/Fellowship where you see the book of Acts continue to be written…and become an active part of it!

(If you are in Malta or Gozo, we encourage you to join us at River of love Christian Fellowship every Wednesday and Saturday at 7pm for Gospel Service and expect to be blessed)
