### **The OFFICE of an Apostle**
*All **offices** have been misused and abused (just like Revelation 2)*
1. **Jesus is The Chief Great Apostle**
*(Hebrews 3:1, “Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus.”)* **HE IS THE 1ST!**
2. **The 12 Apostles of The Lamb (FOUNDATIONAL)**
*(Revelation 3:12 / Matthew 10:1-4 / Mark 3:13-19)* – They established the **NON-NEGOTIABLE DOCTRINES** of the Church.
3. **The Transitional Beginning of the Church**
* **Apostles – Paul** (Acts 9-10 / Galatians 2:9-10) – Transitioned the Church from under the order of Aaron to under the **Order of Melchizedek**.
* **James** (half-brother of Jesus) – Main Pastor in Jerusalem over the other Apostles (Galatians 1).
* **Jude** (half-brother of Jesus).
* **Paul, James, and Jude** wrote foundational doctrines of the NT.
* **Matthias** (Acts 1:23-26).
* **Other apostles** called after the ascension of Jesus.
4. **The Continuing Apostles**
5. **The 12 FOUNDATION Apostles Criteria (Acts 1:21-26)**
* Witness of the miracles of Jesus Christ.
* Witness of the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ.
6. **Other Apostles Mentioned in the NT:**
* **Paul** (Rom 1:1, 1 Cor 1:1, Gal 2:9)
* **Apollos** (1 Cor 4:6-13)
* **Epaphroditus** (Phil 2:25 – *apostolos*/messenger)
* **James** (half-brother of Jesus – Gal 1:19)
* **Barnabas** (Acts 14:1, 1 Cor 9:5-6)
* **Andronicus & Junia** (Romans 16:7 – Relatives of Paul; An "Apostle Couple")
* **Titus** (2 Cor 8:23)
* **Unnamed Brother** (2 Cor 8:18, 23 – Traveled with Titus)
* **Timothy & Silas** (1 Thess 1:1, 2:6)
* *(Note: Titus and Timothy traveled with Paul and were sent as apostles to churches)*

**The TRUE Church is APOSTOLIC**
This does not mean every minister who leads is an apostle. An Apostolic Church recognizes the governing body mentioned in **Ephesians 4:11-13**.
* **Acts 11:27**: “And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch.”
* **Acts 13:1**: “Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers.”
* **1 Cor 12:27-29**: “Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church: **first apostles, second prophets, third teachers**... Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers?”
